Museum Guidelines
Handicapped-accessibility
Due to the historic nature of the buildings, unfortunately a large portion of the museum is not handicapped-accessible. There is a handicapped-accessible restroom located near the entrance (Holzlagerhalle).
Buildings
Please be advised that in the 70 historic buildings the stairs are steep and the doorways and ceilings are quite low. When the weather is rainy, portions of the building interiors may become slippery.
Dogs
Visitors are welcome to bring their dogs, but dogs must be kept on a leash as the museum has many animals of its own.
Furniture
The furniture found in the museum is historically authentic and, unless noted otherwise, visitors are invited to touch the pieces.
Smoking
Smoking is prohibited on museum premises.
